worry jar

So I’ve been pretty damn stressed these past few months, as some of my rants have suggested. Anyway, I was getting ready for bed and I was fretting about like 10 different major worrisome things. My mind was racing and I thought I’d try to meditate to try to calm down. It wasn’t really working and then all of a sudden it dawned on me to let someone else take care of all my worries for me! To give them up to the universe so I don’t have to do it alone. And so I made a worry jar! Why the F not!
So I ran down stairs, grabbed a mason jar, taped a note to the universe on it, and then wrote out all my stresses on scraps of paper and then put it in another room – out of sight, out of mind.
Swear to god – it worked.
Almost everything I was wrote down, got resolved in the past two days. Even got a call about my major stress the very next morning – call woke me up and I got some good news! Then the rest got knocked down throughout the day. There are still a few outstanding worries, but I’m sure they are being taken care of, I just don’t know about it yet.
I did this a while back too. About 5 years ago I had a worry jar. It was so cool to go back years later and read them – to realize how ridiculous some of my stresses were. Things I was just sick over meant absolutely nothing now.
Since it works so well on my stresses, I think I’ll also make a Wish Jar too. Again, why the F not!

This is brilliant Kristen and so inspiring for others to do the same. I’m gonna start my own worry jar, perfect man jar, perfect apartment jar and bitch jar (just for those days that I feel like ranting and don’t want to bother my friends).
Love it and thanks for the great post!
Melissa

There is no jar big enough to be a perfect man jar.
