about me & this blog

Dating Myself -

I think if I were to pick myself up, I’d tell myself a Chuck Norris joke instead of a pick up line – Like, “Did you know that Chuck Norris’ Tears can cure cancer? Too bad he’s never cried.”

That to me would justify a flirty little laugh and maybe I’d even touch my own arm gently right by the elbow and hold it for just a second too long, thus suggesting in that unmistakable way that “you’ve peaked my interest, say something funny again and I’ll let you buy me a shot”.

Well, I didn’t pick myself up in a bar, because I’m not a slut anymore, but I will be dating myself.  I’ve decided to spend some quality time with myself in an effort to find fulfillment and balance in my life.

So please join me on this little journey as I note down all my thoughts (well the non-psychotic ones), feelings, insights and ramblings of me and my attempt of getting to know myself better and to feel inspired and hopefully the inspiration is infectious, and that infection spreads to you and it outbreaks across the nation and only Dustin Hoffman can save us all.

About me

I think I’ll just let my picture do the talking.

me, on halloween

me, on halloween

‘Nuff said. True, it was halloween, but make no mistake, I would wear this shirt anytime, anywhere. Actually, the previous year was my best costume. I went as tv’s Gill Grissom from CSI Las Vegas (the only CSI in my opinion).

kristen, I just took a quick run through your blog. I don’t have much time this morning to read through some of your thoughts and stories but I think your re-focus on yourself is really important. Too many people let time slip by without concentrating on themselves. I think you have to take care of yourself first and the rest will fall into place.

    Love the Halloween outfit.

    Have a great day

Okay I really MUST see pictures of the Grisson costume! Post them on Fbook.

It sounds like you are having a very exciting journey, lovely, and seeing all of the ups and downs as the gifts to you that they truly are. Trust me, I know that sometimes you will wish that they had come with the receipt but in the long run, they will be worth the struggle.

keep writing – you have a great funny candid style :-)

Speaking of Chuck Norris, last christmas I was sent a bottle of Chuck Norris tabasco eye drops. The bottle also contains a small amount of viagra to make you look hard!

so i was talking to my grandma, conversation was getting a little dry and Nuala had bookmarked your blog so i clicked…

Given our relationship was originally founded on the Big Wow (your readers can speculate about that one) i figured see what you tell ppl you’re about. I read your chuck norris one liner, and I laughed out loud — just when my grandma was telling me something about her bowel issues. The laugh — innappropriate. My Grandma — somewhat offended. The moment — priceless.

So thanks for that. just thought i’d share.

And for the record, i successfully convinced my grandma that i never laughed at all…and that her hearing aid acting up… *grin*

    keep it real.

Hi Kristen! I’ve been reading your blog for ages and absolutely love it! I’m living back in Montreal but lived in Toronto for a few years and was of course a 10Spot regular….AMAZING spot.
If you have a sec, can you elaborate on how you were able to finance your own biz in the beginning? Despite the economy, I’m about to take the plunge into my own business and would love any start up advice you might have, particularly as it relates to finance. Thanks!!
